Do I need experience to enrol?

For the 2-Week Intensive Course, prior animal handling experience is essential. If you’re new to the industry, the 4-Week or 6-Week Courses are better suited, as they cover animal handling skills in greater depth.

  • 2-Week Course: For those already working in the animal industry who want to build or refine grooming skills quickly.

  • 4-Week Course: Provides more hands-on grooming, pet first aid certification, and experience with a broader range of dogs.

  • 6-Week Course: Our most comprehensive program, offering a nationally recognised qualification (Certificate III), pet first aid, client communication, and business operations training.

  • 2-Week Course: Certificate of Completion.

  • 4-Week Course: Certificate of Completion + Pet First Aid Certificate.

  • 6-Week Course: ACM30122 Certificate III in Animal Care Services – Dog Grooming (Nationally Recognised), Pet First Aid Certificate, and a Course Completion Certificate.

  • 2-Week Course: Approximately 12 dogs.

  • 4-Week Course: Approximately 24 dogs (plus 15 beyond the 2-week curriculum).

  • 6-Week Course: Approximately 44–48 dogs, plus breed-specific clips and advanced scissoring practice.

All tools are provided during training. For the 6-Week Course, students are encouraged to have their own grooming scissors, which are available for purchase on site.

Our courses are designed to be practical and hands-on, with theory taught alongside live grooming. The 6-Week Course also includes an online learning component delivered through Heiniger Academy.

Yes. Graduates of all courses gain the skills to enter the grooming industry. The 6-Week Course is ideal if you wish to start your own salon or gain employment with a nationally recognised qualification.
