ABOUT THE COURSE
Duration: 6 weeks (25 days – Monday to Thursday + one Friday)
Cost:
$8,000 (course only, no certification)
$8,000 + $2,225 Heiniger Academy fee = $10,225 (with certification)
Tools: Provided (students encouraged to have own grooming scissors – available on site)
Overview:
Intensive program equipping students with knowledge and practical skills to start working as a professional groomer or independently.
LEARN & EXPERIENCE
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
- Identify dog breeds and coat types
- Identify grooming tools, uses, and maintenance
- Learn about skin, shampoo & conditioning products
- Learn correct clipping and scissoring skills
- Breed-specific clips and head styling
- Learn animal handling skills
- Client communication skills
- Business salon operations
- Multiple baths, blow-dries, de-shedding treatments, and mini grooms
- At least 12 full grooms
- Groom approx. 44–48 dogs total
- Learn pet first aid (with certification)
- Gain comprehensive knowledge of grooming standards
- Hand scissor a model dog body and head (students may keep wigs)
